Constable Ron Myers

I was initially appointed in 2001 to fill a vacancy as Constable in the Peoria Justice Court.   I was elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2006.   With a move and name change, the court is now named the Lake Pleasant Justice Court.

As Constable, I serve criminal and civil process issued primarily by Justice Courts in Maricopa County but also from other non-federal courts throughout Arizona and the United States.   Included in the process I serve are protective orders, subpoenas, summonses and evictions.   My court precinct covers most of Peoria; part of Youngtown; all of Sun City; Glendale north of Bell Road and a portion of Phoenix north of the Carefree Highway west of I17 and up to the Yavapai County line.

The Constable is elected by the public.   Constables have been part of the Arizona court system since 1861.   There are currently 23 Constables and 23 Justices of the Peace in Maricopa County, one for each precinct but this will soon grow to 25 each.

As Constable, it is essential that I deal successfully with the public, as I am frequently the first contact an individual may have with the judicial system.   Part of my job is to assist people to understand the court action they may be facing.   Some of my qualifications are as follows:

Retired FBI Special Agent with over 30 years experience.

Numerous awards for exceptional performance and for bravery in action.

Married to Judy Myers for 39 years.

   Valley resident since 1973.

   Arizona P.O.S.T. certified peace officer.

   Chair-City of Glendale Personnel Board

President, Arizona Constables State Association 2003 through end of 2007.

Member, Board of Directors, Arizona Association of Counties.

Firearms instructor certified by Arizona DPS and Arizona P.O.S.T.

Former Small Claims Hearing Officer in Justice Courts.

   Small business owner.
